The 2008 iGeo - Carthage, Tunisia

Carthage, Tunisia - 2008 iGeo

The seventh International Geography Olympiad held in Carthage, Tunisia, from August 7 to 12, 2008 in conjunction with the congress of the International Geographical Union, was a great success. Apart from a written response test and a multimedia test the Olympiad consisted of a three day fieldwork through Tunisia with two mapping exercises and a knowledge test.

The 24 countries that participated were: Australia, Belarus, Belgium, China Beijing,China Taipeh, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tunisia, The United Kingdom. Observers from Brasil, the USA and Denmark visited the Olympiad.
